Angela Smith is an author, writer, and mother to now 20-year-old Theo.
She loves to write and conjure up book concepts to provide children with the tools to shine through adversity and encourage self-esteem, self-worth and, imagination.
Angela has created a successful series called 'I Love'. This series includes:
I Love Myself,
I Love My Family, and
I Love My Dog.
All three books are uniquely illustrated by children, showing them that they too can participate in the arts.
I Love Myself has been acknowledged as meeting some of the required components of the New Zealand School Curriculum, such as those relating to self. Angela further envisions this resource and other of her books to become potential worldwide resources, such as teaching workbooks that empower children on a practical and emotional level.
She has been working on a ten-part picture book series entitled Oliver Blue, for the past 13 years, with the first story in this series due out late 2022.
This series is about an endearing teddy bear filled with the wonder of life. Morris, his constant companion, is a Ruru (native New Zealand Owl): a wise and friendly bird full of wisdom guaranteed to inspire any child.
Priscilla, the Cow Takes Flight! The first in a series of four about a cow and her friends. It is a fun book about friendship and inclusion between Priscilla and friends and is due for release in mid-August 2022.
Long term plans for Angela:
To continue writing books and articles that promote greater love with and for our children ― venturing further afield to develop and bring one of her series to life via animation.
